Being the first post on this blog, it would be fitting to take this opportunity to introduce you to myself and the focus of this blog.
I would prefer that my personal identity remain anonymous (this is the internet afterall), but I believe it is important that I share some of my background with you all. I want you to know where I am coming from. I am a Christian (in heart and deed) man in my middle twenties. I am still single, live in the American Midwest, have some college but no degree, and I am an employed farmer. Alright…I know what you are thinking. ”Why in the world should waste my time reading this guy’s drivel?! He’s young (i.e., immature), a college dropout (surely he must have a negative IQ), and he’s a poor, dirty, sweaty, greasy hayseed plowboy hick!” And you would be right to a degree, I could always stand to be a little more mature, educated, and refined.
The perspective I intend to bring to this blog, a perspective not found in enough abundence these days, is that of the unsophsticated, God-fearing, Constitution-adhearing, common sense American. The man or woman who may not possess an advanced education, abundant wealth, or unriveled power, but instead they analyze and react based on their fear of God (which is the beginning of wisdom), character (built through hard work), and common sense (aquired by association with principled, sensible people). If you do not appreciate my faith, background, etc., you will probably not consider my opinions when viewed in that disqualifying context. Or, if you do not love the God, love your family, or love the United States (more specifially, the Constitution thereof), then you will probably despise this blog. But, if you are any American, of any race, creed, heritage, political party who loves God, your family, and your country, then we will have enough to unite on and you will love this blog.
It is from this perspective I intend to comment on the history of the United States, current national and global events and issues, and the future of our nation and the world. Also, I will also expound on religion and spirituality and its place in our society. From time to time I may link to articles or videos that I feel others would find enlightling. I hope you find what is to follow to be eye-opening, entertaining, challenging, and motivating. Please, feel free to comment, link to this blog, and follow along as embark on this journey.
